Hey guys. I hope you all had a wonderful and fun 4th of July! I know I did, my older sister came in town to celebrate it with us which was so much fun. I wanted to set up a lovely picnic outside, but sadly I woke up to a rainy and gloomy day. Luckily we came up with a solution, having a picnic inside!

Me being my crazy self haha

My mom went out to get some white daisy's, blue plastic plates, and a red table cover to stick with the festive theme of things. I made some of the classics for lunch. PB&J's, ham sandwiches and some grilled cheeses. Everything was a hit! My mom even made homemade lemonade. You know what they say, "when life gives you lemons.. make lemonade".

We also had some amazing homemade potato salad and kale salad. I thought it would be such a cute idea if we could cut out the watermelon as stars. Have you guys ever done that?

I also wanted to make mini pies. I made two types, a strawberry and a blueberry mini pie. I really enjoy making things like that because I just think that it's so much fun.

An artsy photo for you guys!

When it got much later, but still light out, my sister and I went out and lit a few sparklers after an "all American dinner" haha. Later, when it got a bit darker, my little sister wanted to make homemade ice cream. I've never made homemade ice cream, but it was probably the best ice cream I have ever had!

The ice we made melted extremely fast, but it was so soft and smooth and fluffy. Have y'all ever made homemade ice cream? We made it in a bag and shook it up, I was amazed by how cold the ice got and how quickly it took to make the ice cream. I thought it would take half an hour, but it only took 10 or 12 minutes!

I hope y'all enjoyed your 4th of July! I would love to know how you celebrated it in the comments.

XOXOX
