Hello friends! The other day I was lucky enough to spend 3 days with my grandparents. We had a ball! The first day when I arrived, we just hung out and relaxed a bit. My grandma and I ran a few errands, we first went to the book store and I got The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Yes I know, I might be a tad bit late on getting the book, but when I saw the movie (a week before) I was dying to read the book.

After we went to the book store, the grocery store was right next door, so, we ran in to grab a few things for dinner. I was extremely excited because my grandma and I wanted to try something new, make our own pizzas!! Now, you might be thinking, "that's so fun and easy!", well, we ran into a few bumps in the road.

1. The dough would NOT rise!!!
2. The dough then would NOT roll out (we got frustrated and my grandma was VERY determined to roll this dough out)
3. We found out the dough was too dry and it broke
4. We tried rolling the 2nd dough = my grandma taking over (but it was fun)

I didn't take any pictures (I should have though). The kitchen looked as though flour had exploded EVERYWHERE!

The 2nd day, my grandpa (I call him Papa) and me went blackberry hunting!! Although we got pricked by the berry vine, we both had a fantastic time bonding, laughing, and hunting!

The path that we took to find the blackberries.

My Papa picking a few berries from the berry vine. And I picked a few as well! Picking blackberries was harder than I thought it would be. Also, I didn't realize how bad the thorns wanted to keep our hands!! *OUCH

The scenery was so pretty! I already went on a tangent about how I loved the beauty of nature and the outdoors and exploring in my Going to Camp post, but I'm gonna gloat about it again.

As I was picking berries, I saw the most pretty creatures (not creepy sounding at all lol).

I guess I was just really lucky on the timing that I saw everything, for the cricket, I was actually REALLY close to it!

My Papa and I thought the sun hitting the moss on this old roof was gorgeous.

After we picked as many berries as wanted, we decided  to venture around. When we came home, we freshened up a bit (aka showered) and got ready for dinner.

I was uber pumped about going to this restaurant called the Atlanta Fish Market. Now, I know it doesn't sound the most appetizing, but holy comely the food was superb!

I love swordfish (sounds so weird) and my mom doesn't always make it. My grandma says to get something that you don't usually always make at home that you can get when going out.

Swordfish crusted with cashews and cracked black pepper with grits and green beans *YUM

The lighting wasn't the best, but for some odd reason, I thought it was important to show you what I got haha. My grandma and I were both in heaven, she got the grilled tuna. We "ate all gone" which is what she said haha. Well we tried to, we both didn't want to seem like we haven't eaten in a week so we both left a tiny amount of our fish haha.

My favorite part of the restaurant was this gigantic fish in the front of the restaurant! I thought I wouldn't be able to get the whole fish in the shot, but I luckily managed to.

Your probably wondering what we did with the blackberries. Well, we baked pies with them!! My Papa and I were able to pick 4 cups full of blackberries and we were very proud of that. At home, we had dessert, obviously the pies we made "wait, what's the other pie you made?" you may be asking yourself. We made a peach pie too!

To the left, blackberry pie and to the right peach pie.

Both of the pies were delicious! I couldn't choose my favorite.

Sorry that this was such a long blog post, I felt like I had so much to tell you. Sadly I wasn't able to get a picture of the fish market because I put all of the fish up :(

Have you guys ever gone out and picked any berries or apples and made pies? I would love to know if you have!

XOXOX
