Hi everyone! Today was such an eventful day. Since it's Labor Day weekend, my sister came home from college and we took a quick car ride to Tennessee. We were ecstatic when we finally got to where we were going. My mom planned for us to see Ruby Falls, but sadly it was a huge attraction for tourists and the line was an hour and a half wait. Not having the patience or the time to stand in line, my sister had a great idea to go up the mountain some more to Lookout Mountain.
As we were driving up the mountain, we saw the most beautiful houses and the cutest street names like Peter Pan rd. and Red Riding Hood Trail! We made it to Fairyland (that's literally what the name of the street we were in was) and got even more excited. It felt as if we were in a totally different area. The sun was out, people were smiling, and the staff was really pleasant.
We hiked around Rock City which was a lot of fun! Once you walk into the park you see a small waterfall and immediately head on a trail through walls of rocks!
I hope y'all are able to read the sign!
The names of the trails were adorable and very clever. There were many stone bridges that were very authentic and lovely to look at.
You guys know how much I love moss and its color. In the beginning to trail, there was so much bright green moss that was calling my name to take a picture of it.
I think the moss on the side of the stone is so pretty and how the light is hitting it captures the green even more. For some reason, I find that moss is in a way relaxing and a bit calming when just taking break to enjoy the nature and what's around you.
My sister and I were a little too excited and wanted to get as many pictures in between rocks and walls as we could. haha
The trail that we were on lead us to this extremely tight passageway. We all looked at each other hoping we would all fit through (we did) and this has to be one of my favorite photos of the rock wall.
After we got through the tight squeeze, the trail lead us to Gnome City! Yes, gnomes!! There were little gnomes everywhere along with this Mushroom Rock that was just sitting there. We were all amazed how it got there, not just with the mushroom rock, but all of Rock City.
We then found this cool metallic bird house and of course, we couldn't not take a picture in it.

Props to my sister for taking this great family portrait lol
We went on this wooden bridge that rocked side to side whenever someone would make any type of movement. I felt like I was in that scene in Shrek when Shrek and Donkey go to save Fiona. I was honestly a bit terrified, my legs felt like jello when I got off, but the view was so pretty!
When we were going down the mountain there was a little tunnel that had colorful windows so when the light from the sun hits them it creates a gorgeous rainbow on the stone wall.
There was another tight squeeze, but this was a bit tighter. As you can tell I am so thrilled to go through the trail. What happened was, we all got through with ease, but the trail started off wide and got tighter and tighter as you went and then opened up.
Through our way out, we caught up with a few gnomes making some moonshine. The last trail that we went through was probably my favorite, Fairyland Caverns.
It seemed so magical, there were neon gnomes and recreations of each and about every fairy tale. As you can tell my sister and I were extremely excited and could not hide it one bit.
To make everything else feel magical, the trail was glowing!! When we got back up to level ground, there was an area where you could pan for gold and my sister went insane (in the best possible way).
She found a few really pretty rocks that were too big to be panned for. The entire trip was so much fun. It started off a little rocky (no pun intended), but ended up being a blast with amazing memories that we will all hold forever in our minds and hearts.
Has anyone ever been to Lookout Mountain or even Ruby Falls?
XOXOX
