When we were walking to the event, they had a sign directing us where to go. We followed the rocky path all the way down to where we had to sign in at. Yes, we had name tags if anyone was wondering. I began to get a little excited. We were all outside, it was super hot that day. It felt as though the sun was trying to fry us alive!!!
(My mom and dad getting a name tag)
I even got a name tag!! I was a little too excited and wanted to do my name in bubble letters. As I was about to put it on, my dad reminded me that I was at a reunion and had to put my last name. I didn't have much room so I wrote it kinda small! haha
I was thankful when the covered shelter had fans that were on. We all cooled off and had lunch. There was a table with everyone's family tree on it. I thought it was so cool and very thoughtful because the time it must have taken all of the hard work to find each family tree was remarkable.
This is my family tree! I was amazed by how long it was!
(My grandma adding names to the tree and checking it twice! haha)
THE GIRLS! haha (from left to right my mom, little sister Sara, my grandma, and ME)
I was probably overly excited. After we took a few photos, we were hungry and ate at a little picnic table together, but including my papa and dad! My papa got a diet coke that said trendsetter on it! I thought it was the coolest and funniest thing ever!
After we all ate, we sat and talked. I decided to look at the garden. I walked around and found this super pretty and insane flower that I have never seen before. My papa came along and told me that this flower was from a weed that had literally taken over the tomato vine.
As I was walking through the garden, I noticed that the place we had the reunion at grew their own watermelon, beans, and corn! I also thought I saw some raspberries growing, but my papa told me those were some blackberries.
(The blackberries)
He then told me that there was a fig tree and I love figs!! As well as a pecan tree, an apple tree, and a peach tree! I was eager to pick a few apples.
I knew they weren't ready yet, but I really wanted to take some with me. I tried one and it was EXTREMELY sour!!!
I really want to go back when everything is ready and finished growing. In all, the day of the family reunion wasn't too bad, I had fun and I know my mom, dad, and little sister did as well. To make the day even better, we saw A SWAN just chilling on the other side of the street eating some grass! It was so pretty.
